They call it in the Guinness world record for the largest number of software downloads as “an extremely impressive accomplishment” and why not, for just 24 hour period the number of downloads exceeded the expectations of the people behind Firefox. Have you downloaded yet? Or better, was yours one of those total of 8,002,530 downloads for open source web browser Firefox 3.0 on it’s download day? The download rate on its busiest, the servers were handling more than 9,000 downloads per minute. So far there have been more than 28 million downloads of Firefox 3.0, and counting.
Firefox 3 Beta 4 now available for download
Firefox 3 Beta 4 twelfth milestone release is now available for download for developers and testers. This release is focused on testing the core functionality provided by many new exciting and security features and changes to the platform scheduled for Firefox 3. The most noticeable change is the browser speed, and performance. FF3 is 5x faster than IE7, 3x faster than FF2.
