Renaissance Hotels

That was where we stayed on my second time in Mumbai, in the lakeside chalet apartment. We had a very nice stay there in the apartment; the Marriott hotel compounds are lush with green and most of all, secured from the outside. There I met a fellow Filipina who has also been traveling with her husband. It was unexpected, and great. I took this picture during one of my tours yet again around Mumbai, the time when Madonna was there.

Frontier trivia of the day:

Some hotels have accommodation underwater, such as Utter Inn in Lake Mälaren, Sweden. Hydropolis, under construction in Dubai, will have suites on the bottom of the Persian Gulf, and Jules Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida requires scuba diving to access its rooms. (Wikipedia)

Dubai’s rotating skyscraper!

I could visualize the world like those in sci-fi movies with flying objects on the highway on the sky for “day to day” travels. Are we getting there?

Well nothing’s gonna stop Dubai’s amazing development. This time planned and ready for constuction is the Dynamic tower, world’s first building that rotates while people inside revolve in luxury.  The 80-story tower that is designed by an Italian architect will have revolving floors that give it an ever-shifting shape. It is the world’s first, let’s celebrate it in Dubai.

We see how the Middles East, not just Dubai, has been booming with all projects that are so amazing, making records in the world. All constructions modern and prestigious and are unending, it is really amazing to see them work.

But far from the recesses of the modern world is this one barn across the road. It has been there for more than half a century. I think it is lovely.

Single-minded vision

Dubai as a world business hubIt is the new year, and though many don’t bother with New Year’s Resolution, some still strive to make their year productive, making promises to themselves to achieve “extra ordinary” things that can change the world by being perfectionist in themselves first.

The target and single-minded vision of formidable ruler Sheikh Mohamad bin Rashid Al Maktoum for putting Dubai on the global map and making it one of the fastest growing cities in the world. With resources and ambition to achieve it, he did, and so now Dubai emerged as a world business hub, and attracted world-wide attention through innovative real estate projects, manning jobs with its largely foreign workforce.
