Energy-saving christmas lights
Hubby has been in the process of changing the lights to ones that are of light-emitting diode (LED). Why? Because LEDs produce more light per watt than do incandescent bulbs; this is useful in battery powered or energy-saving devices and LEDs have an extremely long life span. They are also very durable as they are constructed of a nearly indestructible epoxy plastic and contain no fragile filament or glass like incandescents. We also apply it to all lights even for our Christmas lights and for yours this season. LED holiday lights use 1/10th the energy and will last for more than 50,000 hours compared to less than 2000 for standard incandescents. The lights are also safer because they create very little heat above ambient temperatures. The good thing is, according to recent EPA report determine that if 20% of American homes switched to LED Christmas lights during the average 30 day holiday season it would save 400GWh of electricity. So buy LED Christmas lights for they save much energy.
