Fair access policy
The weather is good, the line is clear, you have cleared your cache and other temp files, you made sure it was not a virus slowing you your pc down, but your internet connection is crawling. Why is it so slow? Your service provider may be implementing FAP or Fair Access Policy in order to guarantee a fair share of available bandwidth to all users in every twenty-four hours cycle, and it is currently in effect. You might have downloaded files in the last 24 hours, eh? If there is a high amount of data download by computers connecting via your ISP terminal, the predefined bandwidth limit might have been exceeded so you may notice some degradation in the peak download speeds and in some cases, this may also affect your browsing times. Like with our service provider, there are few hours when you can download unlimited bandwidth, but outside of that period of the day, everything has some megabyte limit. It is helpful to know the details on the policy that may be obtained from your service provider, because you will have to wait for 24 hours before the connection speeds up again once you hit the mark.

One of my favorite department in shopping is the electronics section. We don’t have to be updated all the time of the latest in gadgets, though it is nice to be, but we all like entertainment. And jut like that, buy.com has stereos, speakers, headphones, cables, bluetooth, GPS, you name it and they have all the home electronics and personal entertainment items lined up with deals. It definitely rocks.

I did not like the way the desktop behaved so I tried to shut it down but before that I see this dialog box ending the program YCP error. That was the first time ever I encountered it, and of course my first thought was maybe there is a spy program here running on the background. So I tried to research for it and see some who had the same question also. I just found one answer then that it is a hidden window used by Yahoo Messenger, the “YCP WSA Listen Window”. WSA can stands for “Windows Sockets API” so the window could be there to “listen” for a connection to the Internet. I did nothing and didn’t see it again either.

I was staring at my laptop’s fingerprint sensor, which, of course, if one is enrolled in the enabled program, would require (my) unique fingerprint in order to access everything in the computer. And what if this is also true for credit cards? To block out fraud use and security issues? But somebody had thought about it. The last frontier of credit card security is by Anil Jain’s wanting to put fingerprint sensor in the card so that all transactions will pass through biometric authentication at checkout. Imagine a useless stolen credit card. Looking forward to 2010.
The advantage of house alarm systems
Last month the alarm system in the house was finished. So when I was alone, I had it on all the time, even when the system technician came to check some things. So it went off and the alarms and sirens really made me run to the control panel to switch it off. And so the alarm monitoring. There were two things then: the phone system worked after all the testing and reconnections when the lines were dead, and most importantly, I have tested their alarm system monitoring which I found really reliable, and it was quick, I got high quality rapid-response service. I know they would always be there then to provide assistance and safety monitoring. House alarm systems are real helpful. And they are easy to set-up, the service is dependable and respond to situations fast.
