We just have had a construction work finished around the house. This season is so cold for me. I cannot go out and watch how they are working and progressing without wrappings all around my body. $500,000 award for quicker airport security check

Verified Identity Pass, of New York, US – a firm that already offers quicker checkpoint services at airports for a fee, has announced on 13 February that an award of $500,000 for any solution that will make airport security checks quicker and simpler for passengers. The cash prize will go to any individual, company or institution that can get customers through airport security 15% faster, at a cost of less than 25 cents per passenger, using technology or processes that will be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Passengers must not need to remove their clothes or shoes, something that slows down processing significantly. Company spokesman Jason Slibeck said that over 150 individuals, start-ups, defence contractors and universities have shown an interest in the prize. One promising procedure is mass spectroscopy, which involves analysing the mass-charge ratio of ions on a swab sample taken from a passenger’s clothing or air collected from around them. The method can quickly spot traces of substances including explosives or drugs. The Pre-Registration Package Information Sheet is available online.”

In India now

I am glad I finally heard from hubby and that they landed safe in Mumbai this morning. He has been traveling trans-atlantic since yesterday, and now I am peaceful. I know. He has been traveling a lot for so many years now. It is just good to know all is okay. Much okay because he will be gone for just three weeks. He is flying the Houston-Netherlands-India route.

This was the hotel we stayed in Mumbai in 2006. Situated on Juhu beach, this was taken one afternoon along the shore where thousands of Indian passed their time. A silhouette of the hotel gave obscure view of the building painting.

Juhu beach, an indispensable part of the city of Mumbai, is one of the largest and frequently visited beaches in India on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Not exactly an ideal place for a quiet swim and a sunbath, the beach has a charm of its own, attracting legions of Mumbaikars every day.

Juhu is 20-25km north of the city centre; by air, it is not far from Mumbai airport, and which is also well connected by rail and roads, 15 Kms From Dadar Bus Stand.
