A view of the bridge to South Padre Island taken from the top of the Port Isabel lighthouse in Texas. This was taken during our 4rth of July vacation. Oh yeah, it has been two years ago, but I can still remember how it felt to be up there in the lighthouse one windy afternoon, it was wonderful to be up there though my feet sure felt funny.
In South Padre Island you will find many lovely bird species. One of them is called the Laughing Gull. Why the “Laughing” name? I also wondered. The Laughing Gull’s English name is derived from its raucous kee-agh call, which sounds like a high pitched laugh “ha… ha… ha…”.

What is summer without going to the beach? This was taken at South Padre Island, Texas during our vacation and visit to hubby’s long time friend. I enjoyed the beach so much. It was so refreshing and relaxing, I can still recall how it felt when I was swimming there. Obviously I missed the beach. How was your beach escapade?
